OVERVIEW: This procedure ensures that all settings on the MidNite Kid are up to date.

VERIFYING MIDNITE CHARGE CONTROLLER SETTINGS

CONTACT SUPPORT

  1. Call LVT Tech support at 888-588-9408 with any questions.

IDENTIFY BATTERY QUANTITY AND BATTERY TYPE

  1. Identify the battery type. Battery type is vital throughout this procedure.
    1. AGM batteries say “AGM” on their labels
    2. Flooded batteries do not say “AGM” on their labels

  1. Identify the battery quantity. This information  is vital throughout the procedure.
    1. EFOY trailers have 4 batteries and 2 white fuel tanks
    2. Non-EFOY trailers have 8 batteries and no fuel tanks

BATTERY SETTINGS

  1. Press the MENU button on the MidNite.
  2. Use LEFT ARROW button until the screen shows <BATTERY> and press ENTER.
  3. Use arrow keys to select the Absorb option and press ENTER.
    1. Ensure that Volts is set correctly according to the battery type. 
      • 29.0V for AGM batteries
      • 28.4V for Flooded batteries
    2. Press the SAVE button, if necessary.
    3. Ensure that Time is set correctly according to the number of batteries. 
      • 120 min for EFOY trailers (4 batteries)
      • 240 min for Non-EFOY trailers (8 batteries)
    4. Press the SAVE button, if necessary.
  4. Press the MENU button to go back to the BATTERY menu.
  5. Use arrow keys to select the Flt option and press ENTER.
    1. Ensure that the Volts  is set correctly according to the battery type. 
      1. 26.4V for AGM batteries
      2. 27.0V for Flooded batteries
    2. Press the SAVE button, if necessary.
  6. Press the MENU button to go back to the BATTERY menu.
  7. Press the RIGHT ARROW button to select the Advanced option and press ENTER.
    1. Ensure that EndAmps is 0.0A
    2. Ensure that Rebulk is 25.0V
    3. Press the SAVE button, if necessary.
  8. Press the MENU button twice to get back to the main menu.

LOAD SETTINGS

  1. Use RIGHT ARROW button until the screen shows <LOAD> and press ENTER.
  2. Ensure that the screen says Func: Manual, and that the asterisk is next to On.
    1. If not, hold the DOWN ARROW until you get to the Func: Manual setting.
    2. Use the RIGHT ARROW to select On.
    3. Press the SAVE button.
  3. Press the SETUP button.
    1. Ensure that Lowbatt is 22.6.
    2. Ensure that Reconn is 24.0.
  4. Press the MENU button twice to get back to the main menu.

INPUT SETTINGS

  1. Use RIGHT ARROW button until the screen shows <INPUT> and press ENTER.
  2. Ensure that the screen says Mode: SOLAR, and that the asterisk is next to On.
    1. If not, follow the following steps:
      1. Use the UP or DOWN ARROW buttons to access the Mode: Solar setting.
      2. Use the RIGHT ARROW to select On.
      3. Press the SAVE button.
  3. Press the SETUP button.
  4. Ensure that Sweep Interval is 03 Minutes.
    1. NOTE: sometimes this setting can be shown as “Auto”, but it should still be two button presses above the 01 Minutes setting.
  5. Press the SAVE button.
  6. Press the MENU button twice to get back to the main menu.

REPORT TO TECH SUPPORT

  1. Call LVT Tech support at 888-588-9408 and report when the job is complete.
